Eric Bain Negotiates Stay of Adjudication for Client
Eric’s client was charged with misdemeanor theft from a big-box retail store in Blaine, Minnesota (Anoka County). Eric worked with his client to provide the prosecutor with a packet that included proof of settling the store’s civil claim, verification of his volunteer work in the community, and letters of support from his family. Eric used this to negotiate a resolution with the prosecutor that resulted in a stay of adjudication. As long as Eric’s client does not pick up any new theft offenses in the next year, then no conviction will ever be entered on his record. This was especially important to Eric’s client because his job could be jeopardized with a theft conviction.
