Nicole’s client was charged with possession of 2.6 grams of marijuana in a motor vehicle, possession of drug paraphernalia, no proof of insurance, and giving false information to a police officer. Nicole’s client was also facing a probation violation. After lengthy negotiations and retesting some evidence, the prosecutor dismissed all of the charges except for a petty misdemeanor, which means Nicole’s client had to pay a fine and will not be on probation. Because the charges were dismissed, Nicole spoke to her client’s probation officer who agreed to dismiss the probation violation as well.
