Mike’s client was charged with Failure to Stop for a Traffic Control Signal after Mike’s client ran a red light and was involved in an accident in Anoka County. In preparation for the case, Mike was able to put together a packet of information to show the Prosecutor and the Judge facts about his client’s personal situation, the fact that he was a “straight A” student, that he had been accepted into college, and the fact that he had never been in trouble before. Based upon all of this information, the Judge agreed to a stay of adjudication for six months, meaning that Mike’s client’s guilty plea would be held by the Court for six months and the charge dismissed if he had no further problems. Because there was no conviction, this incident will not mar Mike’s client’s driving record.
